Assignment 8A – Solving the Problem
Solving the Problem
· The product that I have envisioned is centered on automated
answering machines, reply texts and other corporation-based messaging.
· Think of the way that your phone provider would
send you a text letting you know that you went over your data usage or other
large company that contacts you either through text or email. One of the
problems with this type of relay of information is that it comes into conflict
with HIPPA laws, which is protects patient confidentiality so that any
sensitive information does not fall into unwanted hands.
· Ideas would be:
- Selling it to smaller clinics first
because once it started to be adopted by them then it will be easier to get the
hospitals on board
- The product would be a messaging service either
to an email or straight to text, where the patient is alerted of lab results
with answering to yes if they wanted to have the results relayed back to them,
meaning that they are consenting. More serious news would require a phone call
but the service would also allow you to set up appointments and call times
ensuring the least amount of wait time.
- The bulk of people that would be
using this would be younger or is aware of how to use technology, even though
the key demographic that needs to talk to doctors or hospitals is older people,
but the idea would be that those that opt into the service because they are
capable of doing it, which means that there would be less people that need to
physically call into the offices. If the lines are less busy, then when they
call in, they have a higher chance of talking to someone of the phone faster
and the doctor being more able to talk to them about their problems.
·
I want the product to be
something that becomes a mainstream commodity, it would begin as a trail with
the smaller clinics to see how it works and figure out all the problems that
the software would come across, and then fix it until it is ready to be adapted
into hospitals.
Hi Stephany,
ReplyDeleteI do think that having an automated answering machine wouldn't be the best idea just because of HIPPA laws of confidentiality like you mentioned. Also, if it's an automated machine it still needs to be entered into a system and then sent to the correct person anyway. I think that you could solve this opportunity by scheduling times of what time the person will receive the call. This way a person will know when to expect their call, and it wouldn't break HIPPA.
Hi Stephany,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you mentioned you wanted to start small with your product, only starting with small clinics first. I think this would get your foot in the door and allow you to get some feedback before you try and target larger clients like hospitals. The clinics will give your solution some credibility and proof that it is a good, functioning system. Overall, great post.
