Assignment 30A – Final Reflection

Final Reflection

  1.  Read through your posts from this semester. Recall all of the experiences you've had a long the way- the highs, the lows,- the fun moments, and the moments of drudgery, and even the moments of dread.
- I want to say that there was moments of highs, but I swear that every class time of all the things that I had to do in the semester this class always came last. So every time that I was doing an assignment, I was running to finish these long assignments that took me longer than it should have to finish. Some of the moments that I liked were when I would sit with my group for ENT and all do the assignments while we were stressed and screaming. I also dreading doing any of the interviews because that was some of the most stressful moments.
  1. What sticks out to you as the most formative experience? The experience that you'll remember years later? What was your most joyous experience? What experience are you most proud of yourself from accomplishing?
- The experiencing that I will remember later will be the elevator pitches. It was the ones that I liked doing the most. It might be in part because it was the easiest things to do since all I had to do was record myself speaking but it was also just nice to change it up. I will probably remember making the videos later on and have to hide the video because someone is going to find it later on and try to play it at my funeral or something like that. I am the most proud of the third elevator pitch it is the one that I like the most and the most proud of.
  1. At the beginning of the semester, I mentioned that I wanted each of you to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Now, at the end, do yo see yourself as an entrepreneur? Do you think you have moved closer to developing an entrepreneurial mindset?
- I want to say that I see myself as somewhat as an entrepreneur but I think that this has also created a small monster in me. because now I just want to find the biggest ways to make money and get rich. It is crazy to think that I really did not have a concept about how to make money in a sense that I did not go down a traditional sense or a traditional career but making my own path. I am way more inclined to think in a business sense and be a little more critical and cold minded.
  1. What is one recommendation you would make to the students who are going to journey down this path in the future? What would you recommend they do to preform best in this course? What would you recommend they do to foster the mindset?
- I recommend that they do things earlier and get ahead in the course on a weekend when they are not doing much. Because this is going to help them so much in the long run because some of the assignments are not easily done in a week, trying to get all of those interviews are not something that can be done in a few days. I also recommended that they do not get to emotional when it comes to comments. I have seen some people that received some comments that were no longer helpful but just harsh and unnecessarily rude. Just take it with a grain of salt and find the comments that are able to help you actually improve your work.

  1. Hi Stephany,
I can agree with your statement that you felt like you were rushing to finish these assignments basically every week and that you felt that this class came last in line when compared to your other classes. That's why when asked what advice I would give, I said that incoming students need to plan ahead for the class so they are not scrambling and delivering not good work every Friday night like I sometimes felt like I did.

  2. Hey Stephany,
I agree that this class was the last thing on my list. I think it's great that you had a group of friends to suffer through with though. What do you mean? The interviews were the best part! Jokes aside, it's great that you liked the elevator pitches. I couldn't really get through them, honestly, public speaking isn't my favorite unless I really have to. Whenever I watched yours though, I could see that you liked them, which I admire because that's definitely not something I could do easily.

  3. Hi Stephany,

Thanks for sharing! I totally agree with trying to finish everything at the last second. I feel like this course has been a lot of time consuming busy work, and expecting us to do 2-3 blogs every week is just unnecessary. I wish we could have just done like 4 projects instead so we could be more thoughtful with the work we were doing, plan according to our other classes, and not feel like we were rushing.

  4. Hi Stephany,
I completely agree with you that students should start their work on the weekends since a lot of assignments do take a while due to the fact you need to get interviews. I also agree that the elevator pitches were a highlight to the course. I feel like I got better at speaking on the spot without having a script, and it will be very beneficial later in my career. Overall, I thought you made a very well thought post!
