My product is more geared towards being sold more to businesses and then being ready for individuals. But i am going to create the individual that would use this when it is ready.
She is a young woman in her mid twenties, she is living every young millennial's dream. She is a proud gator at the University of Florida and she has an internship at a startup company that has nice offices in the midtown area. She grew up in South Florida around the Pinecrest area she wasn't in the wealthiest of houses but she was better off that other families and she was aware of her privilege. Which means that her parents did most things for her but pushed her to start looking for her own job and taking care of herself. Even though she was made to do things on her own there was still a lot she didn't do like manage her doctor visits.
She drives her black 2017 Toyota Corolla to work and school. She's always looking for new things to try and recently had gotten into yoga, even though she was extremely health conscious she had gotten what seemed like the flu. So her instinct was to call her mom to ask her what to do, she had been drinking chicken noodle soup and vitamin C for what seemed like a week now and she was only getting worse. She didn't want to have to take a trip to ER because she didn't want to have to pay that much out of pocket.
She decided to try downloading this medical app that she everyone talking about at her work. She was unsure which doctor to try out but she found a clinical office that was close to her work and decided to go ahead and call them to schedule an appointment, so she stepped out of her job to go make the call. To her surprise the app allowed her to make the appointment right from her phone and state the reason why she was coming while also filling in some of the forms she would have had done at the office. She set for a day where she finished class early and wasn't going into work until later, she checked the app for the weight times and saw that it was five minutes from what was expected. She got to the office and everything went well, she had blood work done to tell her if she had more going on with her body than the bacterial function the doc found. A few days later the app sent her a notification that she had a message waiting for her fro the doctors office from her lecture hall she was able to see that her blood work came out fine and went on with her day.
What do I have in common with her? Well it not hard to see that I made her in the version that I wanted my clients to use the app, young people who have heavy schedules that are not really thinking about going in to see a doctor. I am the same way my first thought is never to go and see a doctor, it is usually to take Dayquil or vitamins until I feel good enough to walk. So it would be nice to have an easier way to get access to a clinic when I am really feeling under the weather.

Hi Stephany, I think your idea on creating the app is great! I am a person who dreads going to the doctors not because of pain or shots, but because of the long waits and filling out paperwork while I am there. Even making appointments are a hassle because I am many times where I would have to call back because they messed up my appointment time or because I forgot something was planned at the same time as my doctor’s appointment. Having to make so many phone calls is definitely time-consuming so developing an app like the one you described will help out the busy lives of many people.
ReplyDeleteHi Stephany, I think the person that you described that would be using your app is very fitting. Since she is a woman in her mid-twenties, she is most likely used to always being on her cellphone so scheduling her appointment that way would be very convenient for her. Also, since she is a student, it might be hard for her to manage her time, however with your app she is able to check the wait time and plan her schedule accordingly.
ReplyDeleteHi Stephany,
ReplyDeleteI really like and appreciate the detail you used when describing your avatar to us, it shows that you took the time to think about who your ideal customer is and I think that will help you market your product better. I also can relate to you and your avatar in the fact that I do not like going to the doctor and would rather go and take medicine myself because it is such a headache.
Hi Stephany,
ReplyDeleteI like how you made your character to fit in to all of our lives as students. Many of us always dread visiting the doctor because many times they put us on wait forever or we're too lazy to call so we just don't go. I think your app would be very successful because of the way you're using this app as a busy student which can also benefit busy moms and busy people in general. I think this was a great way of putting your product out there.
Hey Stephany!
ReplyDeleteI see your avatar is very detailed, I think that's pretty great. Definitely can visualize her. I also really love how you incorporated your product into her description. It makes it really easy to see how you want your app to be used and who you want your target audience to be. I'm not sure if you've used this example in your elevator pitch but I think it would be a great addition to it. Great work!
